Walking Tour
Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and Navona Square
Piazza di Spagna is one of Rome's great attractions. Spanish Square takes its name from the 16th century Palazzo di Spagna, and is worldwide famous for its splendid and monumental staircase. The famous Spanish Steps, leading to the French church of Trinità dei Monti, dominate the Fountain of the Barcaccia, created by Pietro Bernini, the father of the more famous Gianlorenzo Bernini. The square and the surrounding streets are the most elegant location in the city as the high fashion designer district is located here.
Your private walking tour will continue on to the majestic Fountain of Trevi, the best known of Rome's fountains and one of the main symbols of the city. You will have a chance to toss a coin into the fountain and make a wish.
We will then cross Corso Street, famous for strolling and shopping, and continue to the Pantheon. The ancient and perfectly preserved Temple to All Gods, built by Emperor Hadrian, has survived the passing of centuries by being transformed into a religious building. It's possibly one of the greatest pieces of architecture ever realized by human beings.
Navona Square will be the last enchanting attraction of our walking tour. One of Rome's landmarks, Piazza Navona express the best of Baroque art thanks to the Bernini and Borromini masterpieces: the Fountain of Four Rivers and the Church of St. Agnes, arranged within a frame that still reaches out to the ancient Roman past.
